Overview

Ricarda’s Filipino BBQ offers a genuine taste of the Philippines right in Leeds, Alabama, at 2056 Montevallo Rd SW. This humble barbecue spot operates out of a friendly food truck that has quickly become a local favorite. Focused on Filipino street food, Ricarda’s elevates classic dishes such as pork barbecue, chicken inasal, and dumplings, bringing authentic flavors to the Birmingham area’s culinary landscape.

The highlight here is the expertly grilled meats, particularly the chicken inasal and pork skewers, both praised for their tender texture and rich marinades. The chicken kabobs, coated in a savory, well-balanced sauce, are consistently described as juicy and perfectly charred. The pork, soft and flavorful, pairs well with carefully prepared sides like pickled salad and steamed rice, which round out the meal with complementary textures and acidity.

What sets Ricarda’s apart is not just the food but also the welcoming atmosphere created by the owners. Patrons often mention their respectful and warm service, which makes every visit feel personal. Although the truck’s menu can vary and differ slightly from the online listings, this adaptability offers a dynamic experience and encourages customers to explore various authentic Filipino preparations depending on availability.

Seating is modest but thoughtfully arranged, with tables and chairs beneath an awning, allowing guests to enjoy their meals comfortably on-site. This setup caters well to individuals and families looking for a casual dining experience without sacrificing authenticity or quality.

Ricarda’s Filipino BBQ thrives as a bridge between rich Filipino culinary tradition and the emerging street food scene in Alabama. It appeals broadly to locals eager to discover vibrant international tastes and those craving comforting, savory barbecue fare. Whether for a quick bite or a shared meal with loved ones, Ricarda’s delivers genuine flavors and a heartfelt experience that invites repeat visits.

One of the best gems I've come across in Bham. The adobo was a specimen of balance in portion and taste, culminating in a highly satisfying meal. The pickled salad was tuned to perfection, not too sour. The pork was soft and tender. And the rice was perfect and savory. This friendly food truck fills a gap in the local food scene with authentic Filipino street food.

I've been coming since last year and the owners were very friendly and respectful. And the food was great in taste, presentation,at an affordable price. This past Saturday I went by and was glad that they were back open since the winter.I purchase several meals for myself and nieces and nephew. And they enjoyed it.Not that I expected any thing different since I know first hand how good the food is.CONTINUE SERVING THAT GOOD FILIPINA BARBECUE

Just went for the first time today, and this place did not disappoint. I had to order the chicken kabobs because they had run out of the adobo, but it was so delicious! Juicy and delicious. We also went on Saturday which is dumpling day! SOO good. Will definitely be back for that adobo, 100% recommend!

Amazing street feed! If you looking for a great meal go here. Chicken kabobs are the way to go - the sauce was amazing.

Lovely little food truck parked behind the Vulcan gas station. Tables, chairs, and an awning offer seating for those who wish to eat on sight. The owners are amazingly friendly, and the food was ready almost immediately. We ordered two 2-chicken-skewer meals, and they were fantastic! Pineapple was fresh, and the chicken was grilled perfectly. Their menu on the ground does not always match online, so be ready to be flexible (and call if you're trying to order ahead).

Probably the only place to get Filipino food in BHM right now. The folks are really friendly and accommodating. The food is awesome and priced really well, serving size is on the bigger size. Their pork adobo is legit! Despite it being a food truck, their spot has a few picnic tables with umbrellas and a big grassy field to sit on if you prefer it that way.

Hands down the best teriyaki chicken I’ve had in a long time. Amazing rice can’t wait to go again and try the pork adobo. I recommend getting a little extra of the sauce she makes it is so good.

Cute little food truck behind a gas station with outdoor tables to enjoy the weather. We had the pork and dumplings. The pork roast was served with a side of pickled cucumbers that you’d get at your Grandmas house on a Sunday if you were from the Philippines. Very tasty. Unfortunately, we weren’t fans of the dumplings. The owners were super nice and appreciative that we were there. Very happy people. Would go back if in the area
